Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Piano
Linda Livermore is a graduate of Cornerstone University, with a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance. She was awarded the Division of Music Scholarship her freshman year.
At Cornerstone, Linda studied under Peter Van Dessell. After graduating from Cornerstone, she entered the graduate program at Western Michigan University, where she studied under Dr. Silvia Roederer. Linda credits both Van Dessell and Roederer as influential mentors in her music career.
Music sparked her interest at the age of 8, when she began formal training. Her interest in music has never wavered since. Even today she enjoys challenging herself musically.
She recalls, “I was the kid who didn’t need a whole lot of reminders or bribes to practice. I loved it.” By the time she was in high school, she already knew she wanted to pursue music as a career.
Linda reports her mother was her biggest inspiration and cheerleader. Her mother was self-taught, but didn’t have the luxury of piano lessons as a child. In turn, she was determined to provide them for her children.
Linda has been teaching beginner through advanced piano lessons for more than 15 years. Her teaching philosophy includes: a belief that beautiful music can be created at any level, whether through five-finger pattern or a Beethoven Sonata. She enjoys helping students deconstruct music to help them practice more effectively.
Linda and her husband have two teenage daughters. They enjoy outdoor sports and have traveled extensively abroad.
In her spare time Linda volunteers with Kids Hope USA, mentoring students at Burton Elementary School.
