Ms. Deborah

Violin, Piano, Voice, Musical Theater, Acting Instructor

Born into a musical family, Ms. Deborah's musical journey began at the young age of 3 when she started violin lessons. Music has played a significant role in her life ever since.

Originally from metro Detroit, Ms. Deborah graduated from the University of Michigan, where she received a BFA in Theater performance. She trained as a vocalist at Indiana University, the University of Michigan and the Actor's Studio. While at Indiana University she majored in violin.

Ms. Deborah moved to New York to continue studies in Musical Theater before moving to California to pursue a career in acting.

During her 13 year public school teaching career she taught: violin, musical theatre, piano, acting and audition skills.

Specializing in teaching young children, she incorporates creative kinesthetic activities used in teaching theater to make learning and creating music at an early age fun and engaging. She is certified in Music Together; a music and movement program that teaches the fundamentals of music to preschool age children and has also taught the Suzuki method on the violin.

Ms. Deborah is offering virtual lessons, and she will resume teaching in-person sessions in Rockford as soon as the restrictions are lifted.
