ABOUT MS. EMILY
Ms. Emily Brooker’s love of music began early in life when she started piano lessons in the third grade. It has remained an integral part of her life ever since.
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, Ms. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, with an emphasis on Piano Performance. During her studies there, she was awarded the prestigious Steinway Piano Gallery of Excellence Award. Ms. Emily was invited to perform several recitals and ensembles at Trevecca, as well as their Music Department Accreditation Recital. She has also performed in the musical theatre orchestra at Cumberland University in Cumberland, TN.
Ms. Emily taught piano to students five and older privately in unique settings and in their homes with the Mobile Music Academy in Nashville.
Her teaching philosophy includes mastery of fundaments through technical skill building in a joyful manner. She enjoys a wide range of music genres. In addition to the piano, she also plays guitar.
Ms. Emily served as Director of Volunteer Communications for Loop Events in Nashville Tennessee for over two years. Loop Events organizes volunteer teams for touring Christian music groups throughout the United States. She also worked at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for five years.
Emily credits three of her former instructors for their influence on her music career: Mr. David Snyder, currently with King’s Academy, West Palm Beach, Fl, Dr. Paul Christianson, and Ms. Kelli Cox, with Trevecca Nazarene University.
On weekends Ms. Emily switches from piano instructor to race car driver, when she races her dad's TorqStorm truck. She also enjoys playing volleyball, beach outings, and time with friends.
Ms. Emily works part-time for the Pro-Mow Lawn and Landscape service on their administrative team. She also serves as a Lifeline leader at Ada Bible Church.
