Ms. Rebecca Sneller
Instructor: Beginner - Advanced Piano
Piano performance and teaching have long been passions of Ms. Rebecca Sneller.
After graduating from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Music degree, Rebecca Sneller continued her studies at Michigan State University, where she earned a Masters in Piano Performance. She has been performing and teaching music in one form or another ever since.
She began an impressive thirty-one year career teaching college level curriculum, first as an intern at Michigan State University, then as adjunct instructor at Jordon College and Grand Rapids Community College.
The heart of her teaching career has been in K-12 public education. Rebecca taught English and Elementary Music at Grand Rapids Public Schools; Elementary Music at Kentwood Public Schools; English at East Kentwood High School and Elementary Music at Kentwood Public Schools.
Rebecca has also been teaching beginner through adult students at her home studio in Grand Rapids since 1970.
In her spare time she has continued to perform piano duet and duo music with long-time friend, the accomplishedJune Nelson. She has also served as pianist with the Westwind Woodwind Quintet for the past sixteen years.
Ms. Rebecca's impact as a professional musician extends well beyond the stage and classroom through her continued involvement in a number of professional organizations in which she has held leadership roles. These include: Piano Teacher’s Forum of Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Musicians League, the local affiliate of Michigan Music Federation of Music Clubs, the Michigan Music Teachers Association and Music Teachers National Association and the St. Cecilia Music Society.
Rebecca's studio at home features a grand piano and a digital to accommodate duets & more advanced students.
